About Me
Hello, I’m Elaine Moreno, LCSW
If you’re reading this, I suspect you’re trying to decide if you and I would be a good fit for therapy. It’s a good question to ask yourself. The connection you have with your therapist is the foundation for your counseling experience. It’s important that you feel supported, understood, and safe.
I chose to be a therapist because as someone who has had difficulty admitting that I’m struggling, leaning into vulnerability allowed me to experience real change in myself and my relationships. I can say with certainty that my life experiences have fueled my passion to help others develop the tools to meet their goals and live their most authentic lives.
This world we live in can be rough. We live in a society where we are constantly comparing ourselves to others and feeling that we are not good enough. Along with our feelings of self-doubt, some of us are experiencing financial stress, parenting stress, relationship struggles, a life transition, or a loss of some kind. At some point our stress becomes unmanageable and we need a little help. You are here because you have taken the first step to investing in your emotional health. My intention is to help you develop the tools to increase self-acceptance and develop more satisfying relationships.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Houston, TX. I completed my post-graduate training at Texas Children’s Center for Reproductive Psychiatry, where I worked with adult female clients suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety. I also have extensive experience working with parents coping with the difficulties that arise from caring for a child with a chronic illness.
My focus is in providing client-centered individual and couples counseling for young adults and adults. Anxiety, depression, stress management, perinatal & postpartum care, boundary setting/assertiveness, parenting struggles, relationship issues, and life transitions are all common referral issues.
Investing in your emotional well being is challenging but rewarding work. If you are wondering if we might be a good fit, I encourage you to contact me for a complimentary ten-minute phone consultation.
